Description
Part of the series I Am Always Here, this photograph shows a Second World War pillbox that has fallen from its clifftop position into the sea. Green with algae and tilted on the shingle, it has been battered by the tides and is still there, a symbol of resilience.
The series I Am Always Here explores place, memory, grief, and transcendence. Set along the ancient sea walls and tidal paths of the Blackwater Estuary, the work turns toward an expansive, almost featureless landscape that invites quiet reflection. Here, amidst the big Essex sky and shifting tides, the physical landscape and personal memory interweave. This landscape imprints itself onto you, and we imprint ourselves onto it.
Printed to archival fine art standards, this piece brings a quiet, atmospheric stillness and depth to any space.
